About SMIFR
SMIFR (Social Media In Fire Rescue) is a two-day training conference for the people who tell public safety’s story: fire, rescue, EMS, and emergency management PIOs, social media specialists, and communications staff. We meet September 22–23, 2027 in Orlando, FL.
Why we started
Emergency services communicators carry huge responsibility — live incidents, recruitment, community trust — often as a team of one. SMIFR gives them practical PIO training, real peers, and a year-round member network.
